Meeting of coordinating agencies of Quang Tri province in the fourth quarter of 2024

This afternoon, January 15, the coordinating agencies of Quang Tri province held a meeting to assess the situation and results of coordination work in the fourth quarter of 2024, and deploy tasks for the first quarter of 2025. In the fourth quarter of 2024, 40 crimes against social order occurred in the province, with the investigation agency prosecuting 63 new cases/105 defendants. 55 crimes and violations of drug laws occurred, with the investigation agency prosecuting 71 cases/103 defendants. 120 cases/114 defendants were prosecuted for crimes and violations of laws on economic management order, corruption, positions, environment, information technology, and telecommunications networks.

Also in this quarter, the investigation, prosecution, trial, and settlement of criminal cases must comply with legal regulations, without wrongful convictions, omission of criminals, suspension of case investigations, suspension of investigation of suspects due to non-compliance or the court's declaration of non-compliance.

The management of detention, custody, execution of criminal sentences and execution of civil sentences are basically carried out in accordance with legal provisions. The coordination of reviewing and evaluating the implementation of the provisions of Joint Circular No. 01/2020 on coordinating the implementation of a number of articles of the Criminal Procedure Code in the management and settlement of temporarily suspended cases and matters is carried out in accordance with regulations.

The conference spent most of the time discussing and proposing two key tasks in the first quarter of 2025. Accordingly, the provincial coordinating agencies will further strengthen the fight against violations and crimes, especially those with increasing trends such as economic crimes, drug crimes, property infringement, high-tech crimes, smuggling, and trade fraud, while coordinating to speed up the resolution of pending cases, improve the quality of case resolution, focusing on cases that have received direction from the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, complicated cases, and cases of public interest.

Concluding the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Ly Kieu Van requested the prosecution agencies to continue to implement the coordination mechanism well to speed up the settlement of cases and matters, avoid the situation of returning files for additional investigation, slowing down the settlement progress, and at the same time promptly handle cases and matters that have been put under the monitoring of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, and cases and matters that have been concluded in the internal affairs meeting.

Agencies in the internal affairs sector strictly implement Directive 41 dated December 30, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on leading the 2025 national defense and security tasks, Directive 40 dated December 11, 2024 of the Secretariat on organizing the 2025 Lunar New Year, Directive 45 dated December 18, 2024 of the Prime Minister on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Lunar New Year, and well implement Official Dispatch 1695 dated October 8, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on leading and directing the work of receiving citizens and handling complaints and denunciations, ensuring safety, security and order to serve party congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Along with that, strengthen the prevention and fight against drug crimes and "black credit", focus on investigating and inspecting projects that waste money and State resources as well as strictly implement Resolution No. 18 dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and streamline the political system's apparatus, operating effectively and efficiently in agencies and units in accordance with the policies of the central government and the province.
