Having come up with the idea for the photo series a few months in advance, Phuong and her husband prepared each scene themselves. The female tourist was in charge of designing costumes, doing makeup, and being a stylist, while her husband was in charge of taking photos, controlling the scene and lighting. Ms. Thu Phuong said: "I prioritize clothes with a handmade feel, materials close to nature such as linen, hemp... with brocade patterns, or clothes reminiscent of highland culture. There are a few items inspired by H'Mong ethnic costumes, but combined in a more free spirit." Photo: Tran Son

This outfit was redesigned by Ms. Phuong based on the completely handmade materials of the H'Mong people. The prominent green shirt is delicately hand-embroidered according to the traditional craft techniques of the H'Mong people in Sa Pa, the remaining details on the shirt are made from vegetable-dyed linen, bearing a strong cultural imprint and sustainability in ethnic fashion .
