Hanoi extends operating hours of walking streets in Hoan Kiem district

On the evening of December 25, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District ( Hanoi ) announced the extension of the operating hours of pedestrian zones in Hoan Kiem District on the occasion of New Year 2024.

The time to organize walking spaces in Hoan Kiem district is from December 29 (Friday) to January 1, 2024 (Monday), one day longer than the previous schedule.

Specifically, the walking space around Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounding areas will operate from 7:00 p.m. on December 29 (Friday) to 12:00 a.m. on January 1, 2024 (Monday).

Walking streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter operate from 7pm to midnight on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays (December 29-31) and Mondays (January 1, 2024).

According to Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee Pham Tuan Long, extending the operating hours of walking spaces in the district will create favorable conditions for residents and tourists to move around while having fun during the 2024 New Year holiday.

Hoan Kiem District requires departments, offices, units under the district, Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company and People's Committees of wards to proactively coordinate and well implement assigned tasks, ensure urban security and order, traffic safety and order, environmental sanitation, urban beauty; ensure regulations on disease prevention and control, fire prevention and control, safety for people and tourists.

Hoan Kiem Lake walking space and walking streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter are always attractive destinations for locals and tourists every weekend and especially crowded during holidays and Tet.

On average, every weekend, the Hoan Kiem Lake walking space welcomes 5,000-7,000 visitors during the day and 15,000-20,000 visitors in the evening. On holidays, this space can welcome up to 40,000 visitors per day.
