Hanoi City People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 3714/UBND-KGVX on strengthening the management of monuments and large-scale paintings in the City.

Accordingly, the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction and relevant units to protect, manage, renovate, upgrade, expand and maintain monuments and murals managed and invested by the City People's Committee, including: King Ly Thai To Monument, monuments and murals in relic sites managed by the City, monuments in parks managed by the City, murals in two or more district-level administrative units.

Along with that, based on the actual status of the project, inspect, evaluate and propose plans and solutions to carry out maintenance, preservation, repair, restoration, expansion and upgrading work in accordance with the responsibilities, authority and tasks assigned by the City.

Immediately issue a document guiding the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to review the list, classify, specifically count the types and build the Profile of monuments and large paintings in the City. It is necessary to clearly distinguish the groups managed by the Department of Culture and Sports; the Department of Construction; the Central agencies in the area; the districts, towns and cities; Synthesize and report to the City People's Committee in November 2023.

Assign the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to review the list, classify specific types and build dossiers of monuments and large-scale paintings in the management area according to the instructions of the Department of Culture and Sports; send them to the Department of Culture and Sports before November 25, 2023 for synthesis and reporting to the City People's Committee.

Regularly update the Profile and carry out management, investment in construction, maintenance, preservation, repair, restoration, expansion, and upgrading of monuments and murals in the management area according to the responsibilities and authority assigned by the City People's Committee.

At the same time, immediately organize and deploy work to ensure security, order, safety, and environmental sanitation of the landscape space of monuments, large-scale paintings, and surrounding areas; absolutely do not allow vandalism or destruction of works.

The City People's Committee also assigned the City Police to immediately direct grassroots units to strengthen management work and have plans to ensure security and safety for statues and large-scale paintings in the area, and to prevent vandalism and destruction of works.
