Sharing an overview of the development situation of the capital, Mr. Duong Duc Tuan said that Hanoi is heading towards the 18th City Party Congress with many new directions. In particular, infrastructure is identified as a pillar of socio -economic development. The city aims to have 15 urban railway lines by 2045, with a vision to 2065. In the period up to 2030, Hanoi strives to complete 96.8 km of urban railway and prepares to invest in an additional 301 km.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized that in the next 5 years, Hanoi will focus on completing a number of key routes, which will require large investment resources. In this context, the participation of Chinese partners - with their strengths in capital and technology - is considered extremely important. He welcomed large Chinese enterprises interested in Hanoi's transport projects, and expressed his hope that Guangzhou City will closely coordinate in realizing the signed cooperation contents, especially in the infrastructure development strategy.

Introducing Guangzhou's development potential, Deputy Mayor Lai Zhihong said that the GDP in 2024 will reach more than 3,100 billion yuan (about 426.7 billion USD), and there are currently more than 4 million business entities. He emphasized that Guangzhou attaches importance to strengthening cooperation with Vietnamese localities, especially Hanoi, and has achieved many outstanding achievements in many fields.
Mr. Lai Chi Hong also pointed out the advantages of the Hanoi - Guangzhou cooperation relationship such as high political trust, close and convenient geographical location. At the same time, he expressed his belief that the cooperation relationship between the two cities will become increasingly practical and effective.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed many issues of mutual concern and agreed to continue promoting cooperation, prioritizing the signed fields. Guangzhou enterprises took this opportunity to introduce their strengths, especially in the fields of transportation and environmental treatment, expressing their desire to participate in projects in Hanoi.
Appreciating the opinions of Guangzhou, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan hoped that the cooperation between the two sides would continue to be expanded, with priority given to education and training, infrastructure development, and tourism promotion. He assigned relevant units to proactively coordinate with Guangzhou to study feasibility and implement specific cooperation directions.
