In recent days, at the boat mooring dock of Ky Ninh ward, Ky Anh town (Ha Tinh), dozens of local fishing boats have been continuously coming in and out of the dock because of a big catch of seafood. Each boat carries tons of catfish and croaker.

According to local fishermen, the weather was favorable and the waves were gentle, so there were many schools of bream and croaker in the waters of Ky Anh town and Ky Anh district. After 2 days at sea, the fishing boats operated 3-6 nautical miles from shore, bringing in 80-90 tons of bream and croaker.

“The selling price of fish at the wharf ranges from 8,000 to 10,000 VND/kg, while croaker fish costs from 50,000 to 60,000 VND/kg depending on the type. Each trip, the ships earn tens of millions of VND,” said Mr. Nguyen Binh (62 years old).

Mr. Phan Cong Thoan - Vice Chairman of Ky Ninh Ward People's Committee said: "The locality has 240 large and small boats, of which 18 have a capacity of over 90CV. In recent days, fishermen have continuously had a big catch of seafood, prices are stable so their income is quite good."

Trays of seafood are lined up waiting to be loaded onto trucks, transported to markets or imported from other places. Local fishermen say the past few days have been the best time for them to catch seafood at the beginning of the year.
