The FA-50 is a South Korean two-seat light fighter aircraft. Its primary armament is a 20 mm machine gun and a variety of weapons, including AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles and AGM-65 Maverick air-to-ground missiles, among others.

The aircraft is equipped with a turbofan engine, reaching a maximum speed of Mach 1.5 (1,837.5 km/h), a range of 1,800 km, and a ceiling of 14.6 km. Empty weight 6.47 tons, maximum take-off weight 12.3 tons, and can carry up to 4.5 tons of weapons.

According to Minister Blaszczak, the two newly received FA-50s will soon help strengthen the Polish Air Force's capabilities.

This is the sixth transfer of FA-50 fighter jets from South Korea to the Central European country, with two aircraft per batch.

The previous deliveries took place in July, August, September and the two most recent in October, completing the contract between Warsaw and its South Korean partner Korea Aerospace Industries.

In September 2022, the Polish Ministry of Defense ordered 12 FA-50 Gap Filter fighter jets from this partner, similar to the Block 10 version of Korea.
