Coach Hoang Anh Tuan teams up with Mr. Park Hang-seo in the million-dollar team: Determined to get promoted

Bac Ninh Club has successfully recruited Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan for the position of Head Coach. This is a surprising choice, but also shows the ambition of the team playing in the national second division in 2025. Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan's mission is to bring Bac Ninh to win a ticket to the first division in 2025 - 2026.

Bac Ninh FC is called by fans as the "million dollar team" when they spare no expense in investing in building the team and recruiting many talented players. Bac Ninh FC also made a big move by inviting Mr. Park Hang-seo, former head coach of the Vietnam national team, to sit in the advisory chair.

With advisor Park Hang-seo and a squad of experienced players, Bac Ninh players entered the promotion play-off. However, Bac Ninh Club drew 2-2 with Ho Chi Minh City Youth, then stopped after losing on penalties.

After being promoted, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club upgraded its force with a series of good players, then sent troops to the North to join Ninh Binh Club. In the opposite direction, the old force of Ninh Binh went back to the South to wear the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club shirt.

Bac Ninh Club is determined to win one of the two direct tickets to the first division next season. With good financial potential, advisor Park Hang-seo's team is ready.

New challenge for Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan was chosen as "captain" of Bac Ninh Club thanks to his rich experience.

Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan once helped Khanh Hoa Club become a unique and thorny team in V-League in the period 2007 - 2012. After that, the coach born in 1968 moved to Hai Phong Club to take charge in the 2013 - 2014 season. He only coached for a short time, then left the hot seat to make way for assistant Dylan Kerr (who later won the 2014 National Cup with Hai Phong).

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan has the task of bringing Bac Ninh Club to the first division.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan has been involved with Vietnamese youth football from 2015 to 2023. He once led Vietnam U.19 to the semi-finals of the 2016 U.19 Asian Championship, which meant a ticket to the 2017 U.20 World Cup. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan also took charge of Vietnam U.23, when he led his students to the top of the 2023 U.23 Southeast Asia Championship.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan's low note appeared during the time he took charge of Binh Duong Club in the first half of V-League 2024 - 2025. Despite investing in players and a strong assistant team of no less than 15 members, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan could not bring Binh Duong Club to the top group. After 9 matches, Binh Duong team ranked 9th, 8 points behind the top.

The unimpressive results forced Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan and Binh Duong Club to reach an agreement to part ways in December 2024.

Accepting the position of coach at Bac Ninh Club means that for the first time in his coaching career, coach Hoang Anh Tuan will be coaching in the national second division.
