Party, State and Government leaders congratulate VFF, Coach Kim Sang-sik and Vietnam U.23 team
On the morning of August 1, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Nguyen Van Hung met, congratulated and rewarded Coach Kim Sang-sik and the Vietnam U23 team for their excellent achievement, winning the Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
Coach Kim Sang-sik and U.23 Vietnam were awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister.

This is the third consecutive time that the Vietnam U.23 team has achieved this commendable result in the regional youth football tournament. VFF leaders attending the meeting included VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and a number of other officials.
Because the U.23 Vietnam team had divided into groups since returning home, only the coaching staff and 9 players from the northern region were present at the meeting with Minister Nguyen Van Hung. Including Le Van Ha, Nguyen Van Truong (both from Hanoi Club); Nguyen Dinh Bac, Pham Minh Phuc (both from CAHN team); Khuat Van Khang, Dang Tuan Phong (both from The Cong Viettel ); Nguyen Xuan Bac, Nguyen Hieu Minh (both from PVF-CAND); Nguyen Quoc Viet (Ninh Binh). The coaching staff included coach Kim Sang-sik, assistants Luu Danh Minh, Lee Jung-soo, Lee Woon-jea, Park Jong-seok (language assistant), Do Anh Van (language assistant).

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emotionally said: “Today is a very happy day for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism because the leaders of the Ministry get to meet the U.23 Vietnam team - the team that just won the highest achievement at the U.23 Southeast Asia tournament. I would like to convey the best wishes of the Party, State and Government leaders to the U.23 Vietnam team. I wish the team to continue to excellently complete its tasks in the coming time.”
The Minister praised the young players' enthusiastic fighting spirit and their fearlessness in overcoming obstacles to give beautiful matches to the audience. The coaching staff had made reasonable tactical calculations, helping the U.23 Vietnam team win the tournament.
Which individuals received the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit?
On this occasion, the Vietnam Olympic Committee awarded the team 500 million VND. In particular, for their outstanding achievements, the Vietnam U.23 team and 24 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister awarded Certificates of Merit to the U.23 Vietnam team; and 24 individuals: players Tran Trung Kien, Cao Van Binh, Nguyen Tan, Le Van Ha, Nguyen Van Truong, Pham Ly Duc, Nguyen Hieu Minh, Nguyen Xuan Bac, Vo Anh Quan, Nguyen Cong Phuong, Khuat Van Khang, Dang Tuan Phong, Nguyen Thanh Dat, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Pham Minh Phuc, Le Van Thuan, Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Ngoc My, Nguyen Duc Anh, Nguyen Phi Hoang, Nguyen Quoc Viet, Nguyen Nhat Minh, Le Viktor. Assistant coach Luu Danh Minh. 5 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism including: Head of the U.23 Vietnam team Tran Anh Tu, interpreter Do Anh Van, doctor Nguyen Truong An, medical staff Vu Anh Dung and Luu Quang Loi.
