In recent years, Tan Lac district has focused on implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program towards sustainable development.
The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program is a program for economic development in rural areas towards promoting internal resources and increasing value; it is a solution and task in implementing the National Target Program on new rural construction.
In Tan Lac district, many policies supporting the construction and development of key products, potentials and strengths of the locality have been effectively implemented. From there, local agricultural products have become valuable commodities, contributing to improving the income and life of the people.
In 2024, Tan Lac district has 8 OCOP products (from 7 entities) that have been recognized as 3-star products, including: My Hoa honey, Ngo Luong san tuyen tea, red gam cao, an xoa cao, xom com brocade, Thanh Hoi red grapefruit, VITABA khoi leaf tea and Tay Bac crispy spring rolls. Each product has a traceability stamp and appropriate packaging.
OCOP products have initially aroused the potential and strengths of local products, raw material areas and labor. In addition, OCOP programs have also contributed to transforming production towards increasing scale associated with value chains, increasing people's income, and contributing to rural economic development.
To promote propaganda, trade promotion activities, and promote domestic and international trade connections, the district has coordinated with relevant units to support entities to proactively participate in trade fairs and conferences organized by Hoa Binh province and other provinces and cities. At the same time, build points to introduce and sell OCOP products and agricultural products in the area. Support OCOP entities to participate in modern sales channels such as convenience store systems, e-commerce trading floors, etc.
Subjects are also guided to build brands, trademarks and develop OCOP products according to the typical advantages of the locality, in order to promote production, business and sustainable development.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Dinh Duy Khai - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee said: "To continue to effectively implement the One Commune One Product Program associated with the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the participants of the OCOP Program need to continue to focus on perfecting the production process, improving product quality for sustainable product development, creating trust for consumers and having a brand in the market, especially paying attention to raw material areas. At the same time, localities also need to continue to innovate promotion methods, expand production scale, further enhance product value, and create new directions for products with local advantages."
According to Mr. Khai, in the coming time, the district will also review and orient the development of products according to quality. Focus resources on developing existing products, perfecting the conditions to upgrade products from 3 stars to 4 stars to meet the increasing demands of the market.
