Completion of the National Power Supply Project for Con Dao Special Zone

(Chinhphu.vn) - At 4:05 a.m. this morning (September 4), Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) officially and successfully energized the 110 kV Con Dao transformer station, completing the project of supplying electricity from the national grid to Con Dao Special Zone.

This is an important event, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, opening a new era of development for Con Dao.

Previously, at 7:09 p.m. on September 2, 2025, the project was also successfully energized. Bringing the national grid to Con Dao not only ensures safe, continuous, and stable electricity supply, meeting the needs of socio -economic development, national defense and security and improving people's lives, but also replaces diesel power sources, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and contributes to Vietnam's commitment to sustainable development.

This project once again affirms Vietnam's outstanding capacity in implementing large-scale energy projects with modern technology in complex construction conditions at sea.

The project is an important turning point in the national energy infrastructure development strategy, demonstrating the determination of the Government , the electricity industry and participating units in caring for and developing infrastructure for the sea and island areas of the Fatherland. EVN would like to express its deep gratitude to the Government, ministries, branches and localities and acknowledge the efforts of the construction and consulting units that have contributed to the completion of this meaningful project.
