The main event of the WPA Men's 10-Ball World Championship is the final round of men's players from September 20 to September 28 at the Military Zone 7 Gymnasium (HCMC).
On the night of September 20, player Duong Quoc Hoang (also known as Hoang "Sao") won the match against German opponent Marco Spitzky. He started the match confidently from the beginning. Hoang "Sao" made the home audience burst into tears with 2 consecutive ball balances in the 4th game of set 1.
In front of a large home audience, the two equalizers by player Hoang helped him win the hearts and speed up the second set, ending in 4 quick games. The important turning point above brought Hoang "Sao" into the winning bracket to get closer to the final.
The first round saw a few surprises. The heavyweight title contender Fedor Gorst suffered a quick 0-2 defeat to Spaniard Jonas Souto. He will be in the loser's bracket tomorrow and needs to focus more instead of playing on social media.
Host Vietnam still has 3 other players to compete until the night of September 20. Nguyen Bao Chau came from behind to beat Fu Huan (Hong Kong) 2-1. The highly anticipated Pham Phuong Nam also had a 2-1 victory over Casper Matikainen from Finland.
