On September 10, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luan, principal of Dak Somei Primary School (Gia Lai), said that after one day of calling, the school received more than 300 sets of books for students lacking books.
Before entering the new school year 2025-2026, Mr. Luan was informed by homeroom teachers that many students were ethnic minority children who did not have textbooks.
The most missing book series is Connecting knowledge with life from grade 1 to grade 5.
To help his students, on September 9, teacher Luan posted on his personal Facebook page an appeal for donations to support books for the students in the new school year.
According to Mr. Luan, after a day of campaigning, many organizations and individuals contacted to support books for students.
To date, the school has received more than 300 sets of books, all of which are new and basically meet the needs of students. Therefore, the school refuses to accept more.
Teacher Luan said that Dak Somei commune is located in a mountainous area with many socio -economic difficulties. Currently, the school has 1,050 students, many of whom are children of the Ba Na and Mong ethnic groups.
