Today, June 20, the Ministry of Education and Training held a national online conference on the organization of the 2024 high school graduation exam.
The 2024 high school graduation exam officially took place on June 27-28, and was the final high school graduation exam for students studying the 2006 General Education Program. The exam aims to achieve the following goals: using the results to consider high school graduation; providing additional information to assess the quality of general education and providing data as a basis for university and college admissions.

According to exam registration data, the whole country has 1,071,393 candidates taking the exam, an increase of 47,330 candidates compared to 2023. The total number of exam scores is 2,323, an increase of 51 exam scores compared to 2023.
In Quang Tri province, the total number of candidates registered for the exam was 8,402. The Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri arranged 26 exam sites, including 19 inter-school exam sites and 7 independent exam sites.
Up to now, preparations for the 2024 high school graduation exam nationwide have basically been completed, with clear decentralization and assignment of tasks from central ministries to localities.
The training for the exam and preparation of facilities, human resources for directing, organizing and implementing the exam tasks were carried out synchronously. The Ministry of Education and Training also established inspection teams during the exam with the participation of 8,000 lecturers from universities, checking the exam in 63 provinces and cities across the country.
The National High School Examination Steering Committee has organized working groups with localities on exam preparation, invigilation and grading. Localities have issued written instructions and guidance on the exam, ensuring that the coordination of exam organization takes place safely, seriously, economically and in accordance with regulations.
For the 2024 high school graduation exam to be successful, the Ministry of Education and Training requests central ministries, branches and localities to specify 5 groups of common tasks of ministries and branches; 6 groups of tasks of provinces and cities according to the Prime Minister's Directive on high school graduation exams, ensuring smooth, thoughtful, thorough coordination, following the exam procedures and regulations, absolutely safe and honest, not causing stress and creating the most favorable conditions for candidates.
