Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association opens Literary Creation Camp in Phu Yen

On the evening of May 5 in Phu Yen, the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Literary Creation Camp, aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

This year's literary creation camp gathered more than 30 writers and poets from Ho Chi Minh City. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Dao My, Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee; People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports; poets and writers from Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Highlands... and intellectuals and artists from Phu Yen.

The literary creation camp, organized annually by the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, is an activity that brings positive effects to writers and poets in their creative journey. The creation camps are opened to create conditions for writers and poets to have more inspiration for writing, have time to reflect to create new works of higher literary value. The creation camp is also a meeting place for colleagues to exchange more experiences as well as pass on their professional passion to each other.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Trinh Bich Ngan, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, shared: "The activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association always consider the creators as the most important thing because they are the ones who create works of ideological and artistic value, contributing to bringing value to readers and the community. And the goal of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association is to improve the quality of writing, creating works that help improve literary life and spiritual life."

Ms. Ngan also said that the reason for choosing Phu Yen as the place to open the Literary Creation Camp this year is because the land and people of Phu Yen always create motivation and emotions for writers and poets to create and compose valuable works.
