On January 5, in Ninh Binh, the Ministry of Health and the Central Eye Hospital coordinated with the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee to organize a ceremony to honor people who donated corneas to medicine.

According to the representative of the Central Eye Hospital, in 2007, since Vietnam had the first person in Kim Son district, Ninh Binh voluntarily donate corneas after death, it has opened up opportunities for many blind people to regain their sight. From the bright spot, the cornea donation movement in Kim Son has been responded to by people in other localities, spreading nationwide.

To date, the country has had over 45,000 cornea donation registrations, of which 963 people have donated their corneas after death in 20 provinces and cities. Of which, Ninh Binh alone has 437 donors and Kim Son district is the leading locality with 427 donors.
