Specifically, the official website of the US Embassy in Vietnam https://vn.usembassy.gov/vi/news-vi/ has not seen any new updates. The last news was posted on September 24, 2025 with the title "US Education Fair - Fall 2025".
Meanwhile, the official Fanpage of the US Embassy with nearly 500,000 followers has a clear announcement: "Due to the disruption of the US government 's budget, this Facebook account will not be updated regularly until operations return to full normality, except for urgent information related to safety and security."

Also according to information from this Fanpage, currently, passport and visa services by appointment in the United States as well as at US Embassies and Consulates will continue to take place during the budget hiatus if the situation allows.
The notice also instructs Vietnamese citizens who want to know more information about services and the latest operating status related to consular procedures to visit the website: travel.state.gov.
Currently, the American Centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are also temporarily closed until further notice.
Meanwhile, in the United States, with a vote ratio of 55-45, the US Senate on the afternoon of October 1 (local time) once again failed to pass the Republican Party's plan to extend the federal budget until November 21, due to not having the required 60 votes in favor.
Democrats have firmly opposed the Republican plan until it extends health benefits that expire at the end of this year.
Most functions of the US federal government have been shut down since October 1 after funding ran out and Congress was deadlocked over extending spending.
