iPhone 17 inspires Galaxy S26 design?

Apple is preparing to introduce the iPhone 17 series in the early morning of September 10 (Vietnam time) and it is not surprising that rival Samsung is also interested in the event.

There have been many rumors surrounding the iPhone 17 models in recent times, but the most discussed topic is still the design of the back cover and the camera layout of the product. Interestingly, while Apple has not officially announced the new design, Samsung designers are said to have begun to take note of these changes to bring to the Galaxy S26 series early next year.

Famous leaker on X named Sonny Dickson recently shared a photo of fake phone models, showing that this could be a product of the Galaxy S26 series that Samsung is expected to launch in January or February next year.

The photo is said to be of the Galaxy S26, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra models. According to the leak, Samsung may ditch the Plus variant in next year's lineup and replace it with the Edge model. The two models on either side do not have much design difference compared to the Galaxy S25, except for the small camera bump that seems to be inspired by the Galaxy Z Fold7.

Which Galaxy S26 version follows the iPhone 17 design?

In particular, the model in the middle is likely the Galaxy S26 Edge, which has a rather impressive design and is reminiscent of the redesigned back of the iPhone 17. Unlike the Galaxy S25 Edge with a vertical camera cluster, the new model has a camera cluster that stretches horizontally and occupies most of the upper back. This is the outstanding design feature that has been shown in leaked images of the iPhone 17.

Additionally, the circular cutout on the back of all three models suggests that Samsung may be planning to incorporate Qi2 magnets into the Galaxy S26 series. The company began surveying Galaxy users back in July to see if they wanted the feature. Google has adopted Qi2 wireless charging technology for its Pixel 10 devices, and Samsung may follow the same path with the Galaxy S26 series.
