Sokhanvari fled Iran in 1983 and lived in India, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine and the United States before being arrested and extradited to Iran in 2020.
On May 19, Iran's execution agency executed three men for "crimes against God" for shooting dead three security officers during protests in the country last November.
According to the Norway-based Iranian human rights organization, since the beginning of 2023, Tehran has executed over 220 prisoners, the second most in the world after China.
