Today, March 24, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Hoang Nam signed and issued a plan to implement the Measles Vaccination Campaign in Quang Tri province in 2025. In particular, it requires the campaign to be implemented as soon as the vaccine is distributed, and vaccination to be completed no later than March 31, 2025.
The plan aims to increase the rate of measles immunity in the community to proactively prevent and control epidemics, reduce the incidence and mortality rate of measles in the province. Strive for over 95% of children who are eligible for vaccination and have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccine as prescribed to be vaccinated with 1 dose of measles-containing vaccine.
Ensure safety, effectiveness and quality of vaccination according to Decree No. 104/2016/ND-CP, dated July 1, 2016 of the Government regulating vaccination activities and professional guidance documents of the Ministry of Health . Vaccination subjects are children from 6 months to under 9 months old in risk areas, areas where measles cases/measles epidemics are occurring.
Children aged 1-5 who have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccine will be given catch-up doses (using measles-containing vaccine in the Expanded Immunization Program according to the Expanded Immunization Plan for 2025). Children aged 6-10 who have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccine as prescribed.
Request to organize investigation and make a list of vaccinated subjects according to regulations. Direct information and communication work before, during and after the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign aims to raise awareness, share information, and mobilize parents whose children have not been fully vaccinated against measles according to regulations to participate in vaccination.
For the provincial level, the Provincial Center for Disease Control, based on the actual number of subjects of the units, makes estimates, receives and preserves vaccines at the provincial level; coordinates vaccines between units to ensure that measles vaccines are used economically, effectively and safely; and distributes solvents and vaccines for the campaign immediately after receiving them from the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
For district level, district health centers, based on reports on the number of children at commune level in the area, make plans, receive vaccines at the Provincial Center for Disease Control, ensure enough demand of localities; carry out preservation and distribution to communes 1-2 days before vaccination or right before the vaccination session.
At the commune level, commune health stations must review children who have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccines as prescribed, make plans, receive and use vaccines and vaccination materials to ensure they are complete and in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Health.
