According to the People's Committee of Luong Son commune, local heavy rain caused red sand to overflow onto National Highway 1A. The affected area is in Luong Dong village, Luong Son commune, Lam Dong province.
Mr. Vo Tien Trung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Luong Son Commune, said: Immediately after the sand spill occurred, the Civil Defense Command of Luong Son Commune quickly coordinated with the commune police, the Commune Military Command, and the National Highway 1A Binh Thuan BOT Company to mobilize local forces to handle the sand spill incident on National Highway 1A.
At the scene, the commune police force organized and guided traffic flow to ensure smooth and safe traffic for vehicles. Binh Thuan National Highway 1A BOT Company mobilized vehicles and workers at the unit to focus on handling and clearing the amount of sand and soil spilled onto the road surface at the sand spill locations and coordinated traffic regulation.

The incident did not cause any damage to people or property, but caused traffic on National Highway 1A through Luong Son to be blocked for many hours. At 8:15 p.m. the same day, National Highway 1A through this area was reopened to both directions.
Faced with the complicated weather situation, with the possibility of local heavy rain causing flash floods and landslides, the People's Committee of Luong Son commune requested members of the Commune Civil Defense Command, relevant agencies and units to closely monitor the weather situation to proactively respond and quickly handle possible situations.
