Opening of Vu Lan festival of filial piety in Ngu Hanh Son in 2025

DNO - On the morning of August 29, with the agreement of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Da Nang city and the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son ward, Linh Ung - Non Nuoc pagoda presided over and coordinated with related pagodas to organize the opening ceremony of the Vu Lan festival of filial piety in Ngu Hanh Son in 2025.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoa, Chairman of Ngu Hanh Son Ward People's Committee, said that Vu Lan festival is a beautiful cultural and sacred belief that has long been associated with the Vietnamese people, held on Ngu Hanh Son land - a place of beautiful mountains and rivers, a sacred land with talented people, and warm human affection.

“Over the years, the Party Committee and people of Ngu Hanh Son district (now Ngu Hanh Son ward) have always preserved and promoted good cultural and spiritual values. Vu Lan festival not only has religious and spiritual significance but also cultural exchange, connecting the community, fostering solidarity, contributing to building the homeland of Ngu Hanh Son to become increasingly rich, civilized and modern”, Mr. Nguyen Hoa emphasized.

Continuing the success of previous festival seasons, this year's Ngu Hanh Son Vu Lan festival takes place over 3 days, August 28, 29, 30 (the 6th, 7th, 8th of the 7th lunar month), including two parts: ceremony and festival.

The traditional rituals of the ceremony are organized solemnly, economically and effectively, including: Hung Tat Ceremony - Thuong Dai Trang Ngu Phan; Bach Phat Opening Sutra Ceremony - Inviting the Three Jewels - Inviting the heroic spirits; Offering to the heroic spirits - Tieu Mong Son; Presiding over the Great Compassion Mantra; Preaching the Dharma of gratitude to parents; Ngo worship ceremony and paying tribute to heroic soldiers and immortal spirits; Lamp transmission ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity; Ancient Buddha offering food...
