Affirming the brand of Kien Giang University

Starting the 2025-2026 school year, Kien Giang University unites and strives to build prestige and brand, actively contributing to the development of the university education system.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Kien Giang University will train 25 majors, including one new major: English pedagogy. By September 29, nearly 2,000 new students were admitted and enrolled, bringing the total number of students to more than 7,500 students in all training programs; of which, over 7,000 are full-time students, accounting for 93.1% of the total number of students in the school. Along with that, this school year, the school began enrolling students through distance learning for 3 majors: Information Technology, Business Administration and English Language.

Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Rector of Kien Giang University said that in the 2025 - 2026 school year, the school's key goals are to innovate training, connect with businesses and society, promote internal strength and creativity, and aim to build a prestigious brand in the region. At the same time, continue to pursue the goal of university autonomy, both ensuring quality and exploiting the school's endogenous potential.

To achieve that goal, Kien Giang University has been implementing synchronous solutions. To meet the demand for high-quality human resources of the labor market and the diverse learning needs of learners in the new context, the school constantly innovates and modernizes its training programs and methods. Specifically, the school builds and promulgates training program standards for training fields and groups, integrating professional content, core competencies, and adaptability of graduates in the development context. Review and evaluate training programs according to standards, promote international cooperation, and business cooperation to innovate and update program objectives, content, teaching and learning methods, and evaluate learning outcomes; encourage the development of interdisciplinary training programs.

Not stopping there, Kien Giang University will diversify training methods, cooperate to deploy digital university education models, strongly apply digital technology, especially artificial intelligence in educational activities; promote cooperation with businesses in training to improve qualifications and transfer skills for workers. "In the process of reviewing and adjusting training programs, the school focuses on surveying business opinions, combining theoretical knowledge training with practice, linked with internships at businesses; identifying and specifically building necessary soft skills according to the requirements of each field and training sector", Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh shared.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Kien Giang University strives to have a student-to-lecturer ratio of 35 people; the proportion of lecturers with doctoral degrees reaching 20%. To achieve the goal, the school will strengthen training, attract and develop the teaching staff, especially for key fields; focus on training and improving core competencies for lecturers.

Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh said: “The school strictly implements the work of reviewing and planning the development of the teaching staff. Take advantage of scholarship sources, create conditions and implement necessary support measures so that many lecturers can go to school to improve their qualifications. Implement well the working regime, evaluate and treat lecturers according to their qualifications, abilities, job positions and work results to attract, retain and develop a team of good lecturers. Strengthen training, fostering and create conditions for the teaching staff to self-train and foster their professional pedagogical capacity, capacity to organize and conduct research, capacity to apply technology in teaching and learning, especially digital technology and artificial intelligence”.

The school mobilizes resources to increase investment in new equipment, upgrade laboratories, electronic libraries and practice centers, so that students can both study and research in modern conditions. Promote digital transformation in all school activities; increase the application of information technology in management, teaching and scientific research, especially online learning solutions and digital libraries. At the same time, the school continues to implement policies to attract learners, attract and reward highly qualified human resources to study and work at the school; maintain the school's scholarship fund so that students have the conditions to study, establish themselves and start a career.
