Survey of boarding school construction sites in border communes of Lam Dong province

On July 31, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province, Le Thi Bich Lien, led a working delegation to inspect the investment in building schools in land border communes.

Previously, on July 18, the Politburo issued Conclusion Notice No. 81 on the policy of building schools for border communes.

The Politburo agreed on the policy of investing in the construction of primary and secondary boarding schools in 248 land border communes across the country.

Director of the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province Le Thi Bich Lien inspected the border commune of Tuy Duc.

In the immediate future, the pilot investment will complete the construction or renovation of 100 schools by 2025 (no later than the start of the next school year).

These schools will be models for further widespread implementation, completing the investment goal of building 248 schools in the next 2-3 years.

Lam Dong province has 5 border communes on the mainland including Quang Truc, Tuy Duc, Thuan An, Thuan Hanh and Dak Wil. Of which, Quang Truc, Tuy Duc and Dak Wil communes have the rate of ethnic minority students from 42-59%.

The working group of the Department of Education and Training inspected the reality in Quang Truc commune.

During the inspection, the working group of the Department of Education and Training worked with local leaders and inspected a number of proposed locations for school construction.

Based on the actual needs and recommendations of localities, the Working Group of the Department of Education and Training will take note and advise the Provincial People's Committee on the plan and investment portfolio for building a primary-secondary boarding school in accordance with the local educational facility planning, saving and efficiency.

According to the Conclusion of the Politburo, building boarding schools for primary and secondary levels in 248 land border communes is a key and important task in socio-economic development and implementing ethnic policies to improve people's knowledge and human resource quality, create a source of cadres from ethnic and local people, improve the material and spiritual life of people in border areas, and contribute to strengthening national defense and security.

At the meeting on the implementation of the Politburo's Conclusion and the direction of General Secretary To Lam on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes, on July 27, the Prime Minister requested to launch a campaign to build 100 schools in 100 land border communes, to be completed by August 30, 2026 at the latest, with a spirit of speed and boldness.

After completing this phase, we will conduct a preliminary summary, learn from experience as we go, gradually expand, not be perfectionist, not impatient, and complete the entire program.
