According to China Central Television (CCTV), the incident occurred at around 10:00 a.m. on March 20, at an intersection in the Changzhou Economic Development Zone (Jiangsu, China).

With only a few seconds left on the red light, an 80-year-old man in his electric wheelchair crossed the road and tried to squeeze through the gap between the trucks.
Just then, the light turned green and the traffic started moving. The old man was in the truck’s blind spot and was pushed forward without the driver even noticing.

In the "life-threatening" moment, a young man in a yellow shirt riding a motorbike from the opposite direction discovered the incident.
He immediately turned around, sped up to chase the truck, honking and shouting to signal. Thanks to that, the driver stopped the car in time, discovered the problem and immediately called the police.
When the police arrived, the young man in yellow had already left. The authorities determined that if they did not intervene promptly, the consequences would be dire. Immediately after, they sent out a search notice for the "yellow shirt hero".

On the afternoon of March 26, the Noble Deeds Fund of Changzhou Economic Development Zone honored and awarded Mr. Yuan Jianlong - the "yellow shirt hero" who appeared in the video.
Sharing about his actions, Vien Kien Long said: "I just did what needed to be done. At that time, the only thought in my mind was to stop the truck immediately, it was too dangerous!"
Police also reminded the elderly to obey traffic laws when going out to ensure safety for themselves and those around them.
