The last months of the year are the peak season for international visitors to Quang Ninh. In order to not miss out on this influx of visitors, the Quang Ninh tourism industry has quickly overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi and launched many stimulus activities and attractive experiences for tourists.

Staying overnight and visiting Ha Long Bay is a unique product that all international tourists when coming to Quang Ninh want to experience. Therefore, autumn and winter are also considered the international tourist season of Ha Long Bay. To prepare conditions to welcome guests, creating a good impression for tourists when coming to Ha Long, from September 15-17, Quang Ninh province launched the peak campaign "3 days of cleaning Ha Long Bay". Accordingly, each day there are 35-50 vehicles and 150-200 officers, employees, soldiers, and employees of tourism businesses on Ha Long Bay participating in collecting, transporting garbage, and cleaning the heritage Bay.
The fleet of restaurants, sightseeing and accommodation vessels on the Bay is also ready to welcome guests with the highest safety and quality of service. Specifically, 315/359 sightseeing vessels, restaurant vessels and accommodation vessels, equivalent to 88% of the number of vessels on Ha Long Bay are ready to serve tourists.
As a destination chosen by many international tourists, Quang Ninh Museum is also rushing to complete repairs, aiming to reopen on October 1. Along with that, Quang Ninh Museum is speeding up the progress of damage reports, technical economic reports and carrying out necessary procedures to promptly repair and comprehensively overcome the consequences caused by Typhoon Yagi.
Mr. Do Quyet Tien, Director of Quang Ninh Museum said: “Along with temporarily repairing the damage caused by Typhoon Yagi, Quang Ninh Museum will put into service new services such as automatic explanation system in two languages, English and Vietnamese; adjust the biodiversity display space and implement educational experience programs on history and culture, targeting the main target of students at schools in the province. Strive to complete the goal of welcoming 750,000 visitors in 2024”.
Also a "specialized" address serving international tourists, Ha Long Pearl Joint Stock Company is racing against time to restore production and business activities.
Although the 4 standard shopping attractions of Ha Long Pearl, namely the Pearl Farm in Vung Vieng, Bo Hon Island in Ha Long Bay, My Ngoc store and Le Pearl were all heavily affected by the storm, with the determination to bring production and business activities back to normal, not missing the peak season, right after the storm passed, Ha Long Pearl Joint Stock Company repaired My Ngoc store. On September 13, the company welcomed more than 200 international tourists to visit and shop.

As one of the first visitors to My Ngoc store, Ms. Martina Gonzalez (Spanish tourist) shared: "It's unbelievable that you have just experienced a terrible storm. When I arrived here, I could see that the trees and landscape were damaged a lot, but you still ensured the conditions to welcome visitors very safely. We were introduced to how the workers raise pearls, cultivate pearls and make pearls. I have chosen for myself very meaningful gifts for my relatives."
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Huong, Director of Ha Long Pearl Joint Stock Company, shared: “Preparing conditions to welcome guests at this time is both a challenge and an opportunity for us. The challenge is that we have to try 5 times harder than usual to bring production and business activities back. The opportunity is that if we successfully welcome the 2024 international tourist season, we will recover faster. Ha Long Pearl is determined to join the recovery efforts of Ha Long and Quang Ninh tourism as soon as possible to overcome the consequences caused by the storm and bring production and business activities back to normal.”

Also according to Ms. Huong, after My Ngoc, Ha Long Pearl strives to put Le Pearl store into service for tourists from September 28 and strives to complete part of the pearl farm on Ha Long Bay by the end of 2024.
In 2024, Quang Ninh aims to welcome 19 million visitors, including 3.5 million international visitors. By the end of August 2024, the province had welcomed 14.7 million visitors, of which 2.4 million were international visitors (equivalent to 68.57% of the plan).
