Cold air returns, cold replaces dampness in the North

(NLDO) - Cold air has returned, causing severe cold in the North; especially the humid and damp conditions that have lasted for many days have also ended.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on March 6, cold air affected the North Central region, most of the Northwest region and some places in the Central Central region, then continued to affect other places in the Central Central region and the Northwest region, then affected some places in the South Central region. In the Gulf of Tonkin, there were strong northeast winds of level 7, gusting to level 9.

The weather in the North and North Central regions is cold, with some places experiencing severe cold; in the mountainous and midland regions of the Northeast, the weather is severe cold, with some places experiencing severe cold.

From tonight, March 6, the weather will turn cold in the area from Quang Binh to Hue. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the North is generally 12-15 degrees Celsius, in the highlands below 8 degrees Celsius in some places; in the North Central region it is generally 14-17 degrees Celsius; in Quang Binh to Hue it is generally 16-19 degrees Celsius.

Hanoi area has rain in some places, cold weather. Low temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 13-15 degrees. High temperature is 17-19 degrees.

In recent days, due to high humidity in the air, it has caused dampness in Hanoi and many places in the North.

High humidity is a favorable environment for respiratory pathogens and allergies, especially for children and the elderly. This weather condition also causes many obstacles to daily life, adversely affecting health.

Humidity is a weather phenomenon that often occurs in the spring in the North. Each period of humidity usually lasts from a few days to a week. The phenomenon of humidity occurs from mid-February to early April every year and only ends or changes when strong cold air flows in or there is sunshine.

Due to the influence of cold air, the North and Central Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day and night of March 6. The Meteorological Agency forecasts that the cold spell in the mountainous and midland areas of the Northeast will likely last until around March 8.
