High School Graduation Exam 2025: 10 candidates suspended from Literature exam, more than 7,200 students dropped out

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just reported on the first exam session, Literature subject, of the 2025 high school graduation exam, which took place this morning (June 26). Accordingly, more than 7,200 candidates dropped out of the exam and 10 were suspended right from the first exam session of Literature subject.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, the whole country has 1,151,687 candidates registered for the 2025 high school graduation exam (of which 1,132,284 candidates follow the 2018 general education program), however, the number of candidates taking the Literature exam is 1,144,477, accounting for 99.37%. Thus, 7,210 candidates have dropped out of the Literature exam, of which 5,395 candidates are studying the 2018 general education program.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that in the first 2025 high school graduation exam in Literature, 10 candidates nationwide violated exam regulations and were suspended. Of these, 8 candidates were suspended for using mobile phones, and 2 candidates were suspended for using documents.

This afternoon (June 26), candidates studying the two programs will take the Math exam in the 2025 high school graduation exam. The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27.

Candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program will participate in 4 exam sessions: 1 Literature session, 1 Math session, 1 optional exam session (Natural Science or Social Science) and 1 Foreign Language exam session.

Candidates studying the 2018 General Education Program will take the high school graduation exam with 4 subjects: 2 compulsory subjects (Literature, Math) and 2 elective subjects from grade 12 subjects (Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic & Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology).

Candidates take the exam in 3 sessions: 1 session for Literature, 1 session for Math, 1 session for 2 elective subjects. Literature is an essay test of 120 minutes (Reading 4 points, Writing 6 points); Math is a multiple choice test of 90 minutes; the remaining subjects are multiple choice of 50 minutes.
