Quang Tri province leaders inspect response work to storm No. 10

At the Cua Tung Commune Boat Anchorage Area, the entire commune currently has about 270 households with 735 people in 6 villages that must be evacuated to avoid the storm. Currently, households and boat owners in the area have been focusing on implementing measures to respond to storm No. 10 such as anchoring boats, securing houses, moving assets, preparing provisions, food, etc.

Here, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested local authorities to regularly update information about storm No. 10 to promptly disseminate to the people. The armed forces, police, and army need to prepare plans to support localities in evacuating households in vulnerable areas to safe places tonight to ensure people's lives and property. Focus on preparing logistical plans for electricity, water, gasoline, communication means... Resolutely call on ships operating at sea to return to safe shelters or move out of dangerous areas...

Inspecting the Ai Tu reservoir area (Ai Tu commune), the current water level of the reservoir is about 80% of capacity, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment and related units to develop, review, and update plans and emergency situations for works and downstream areas of the lake and dam; dike protection plans in vulnerable areas for dikes and embankments...

At Hieu Giang commune, Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam and the working delegation came to inspect the harvest of agricultural production areas. Currently, the whole commune has harvested about 98% of the Summer-Autumn rice area, with more than 20 hectares of ripe rice that have not been harvested yet and are still submerged in water. The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has directed the armed forces in the area to mobilize human resources and means to urgently support people to harvest the remaining rice area before the storm makes landfall, minimizing damage to the people...

According to the Quang Tri Province Civil Defense Command, the water level on the rivers is currently fluctuating from below alert level 1 to below alert level 2. Warning: From the night of September 27 to September 30, a flood will appear on the rivers in the province. The flood peak of the rivers is likely to reach alert level 2 to alert level 3, with some rivers above alert level 3.

There are a total of 8,577 vehicles with 23,232 workers in the province. By 3:00 p.m. on September 27, all boats in the danger zone have entered safe shelters; there are currently 3 vehicles with 28 workers operating at sea. The 2025 Summer-Autumn crop in the province was planted on 38,755.5 hectares, and has now harvested over 37,500 hectares, reaching over 96.98% of the cultivated area; the remaining unharvested rice area as of 5:00 p.m. on September 27 is 1,169 hectares...
