Le Thuy - Quang Binh seen from above, everywhere is flooded

Due to the influence of storm No. 6, heavy rain occurred in Le Thuy district ( Quang Binh province), causing thousands of houses to be flooded. Currently, the rain is pouring heavily and the water is still rising.

Mr. Le Van Son, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Thuy district (Quang Binh province) said that the locality's guiding viewpoint is to proactively and effectively implement the "4 on-site" motto; focus human resources and means to rescue people and evacuate people in deep and vulnerable flooded areas in the area.

According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and the Civil Defense Steering Committee of Quang Binh province, heavy rains in recent days have caused more than 16,000 houses in the area to be severely flooded (concentrated in Le Thuy district with more than 12,000 houses), and important traffic routes have been cut off and eroded.

In addition to one person in Thai Thuy commune (Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province) who was swept away by floodwaters, agricultural production and transport infrastructure in Le Thuy district were also damaged, with more than 370 hectares of vegetables, 100 hectares of third-season fish in Tan Thuy commune flooded, more than 3,000 cubic meters of land and 1.5 km of sea dyke eroded.
