Attending the ceremony were Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tay Ninh Newspaper, Radio and Television Chau Hong Kha; Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs, Head of the Southern Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City Truong Thi Hanh and former leaders and representatives of agencies and localities.
At the ceremony, delegates offered incense at the Truong Family Temple to commemorate the great contributions and sacrifices of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and martyrs who died for the independence and freedom of the nation.
Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of the Southern Representative Office of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs said that after more than 15 years of establishment and development, the office has made many positive contributions to the common activities of the Association.
Accordingly, support was provided in searching, gathering and exhuming more than 1,000 martyrs' remains to be buried in cemeteries or brought back to their hometowns; 1,300 houses of gratitude were built; DNA testing was conducted for more than 1,000 martyrs and their relatives to determine their identities; and savings books and gifts were presented to families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids, martyrs, and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers in especially difficult circumstances with a total cost of more than 180 billion VND.
In addition, towards this year's War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the Office mobilized members, businesses and benefactors to donate 2 gratitude houses and many gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and policy families in the Southern provinces. The program also coordinated with the Truong family branch to organize a solemn and meaningful Memorial Ceremony.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 50 gifts to families worshiping Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and martyrs in My Hanh commune./.
