To proactively respond, minimize damage and ensure safety for people and property in the education sector, the Minister of Education and Training requested the directors of the Department of Education and Training of provinces and cities from Lam Dong and above to closely monitor the developments of storms and floods, maintain regular contact with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents.
Develop plans to ensure safety for students, teachers and education administrators; prepare online learning plans and postpone school schedules during complicated stormy days.
Review, inspect and consolidate school facilities, especially at remote schools in remote areas, where there is a high risk of landslides or flooding. Move assets, machinery, equipment, tables, chairs, and records to a safe place to minimize damage, loss, and loss.
Be ready to receive people to take shelter from storms in schools when safety is ensured. Quickly repair damages; clean and sanitize schools/classrooms immediately after storms to ensure safety, cleanliness, and disease prevention.
The Departments of Education and Training are also required to continuously update information, summarize damages, and report to the Provincial People's Committee for remediation.
As Thanh Nien reported, super typhoon Ragasa was stronger than the intensity of super typhoon Yagi in 2024 but is forecast to continue to strengthen and is especially dangerous for ships and boats operating in the sea area where the super typhoon passes.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that at 10:00 a.m. on September 22, the center of the super storm was at about 19.4 degrees north latitude and 122.4 degrees east longitude, about 140 km northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines).
The super typhoon intensity is at level 17, equivalent to wind speed from 202 - 221 km/h, gusting above level 17. Super typhoon Ragasa is moving west-northwest, speed of about 20 km/h.
The Prime Minister has issued an official dispatch directing 8 ministries, 9 provinces and cities to respond to super typhoon Ragasa at the highest level, the worst-case scenario to ensure people's safety and limit damage to people's and State's property.
