VHO - The final two matches of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship will take place simultaneously on August 19 at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong).

In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team lost 1-2 to the Australian women's team, while the Myanmar women's team beat the Thai women's team 2-1.

The Vietnamese and Thai women's teams will face off again in the third-place match.

Thus, the Vietnamese women's team and the Thai women's team will meet again in the third-place match, while the Myanmar women's team will meet the Australian women's team in the final.

For the Vietnamese women's team, the only goal is to defeat Thailand in the third-place match as a gift for the fans.

In the group stage match, the "Diamond Girls" defeated the Thais with a minimal score.

Coach Mai Duc Chung said: "Obviously now we only need to prepare for the bronze medal match.

Thailand and Vietnam already understand each other. If we just play with a better spirit and a little more closely, I think we will win.”

Meanwhile, at the press conference before the final match, the coaches of the Australian and Myanmar women's teams were determined to win.

Coach Joe Palatsides affirmed that the Australian women's team has made a lot of progress after losing to Myanmar in the group stage: "We arrived in Vietnam late and had not had time to adapt to the weather, but since then the team has gone from one progress to another. The players have absorbed the information and performed very well despite the tight schedule."

Joe Palatsides said Australia will continue to maintain a possession-based style of play: “Our plan is to keep the ball. They won’t be able to score if we keep the ball well. We will focus on our own play instead of worrying too much about our opponents.”

Meanwhile, Myanmar women's team head coach Uki Tetsuro appreciated Australia's progress since the opening match, even though Myanmar had won.
