Today's 2024 Olympic competition schedule, August 2, of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, our 4 athletes will compete in 4 events: shooting, rowing, athletics and swimming.
In shooting, Trinh Thu Vinh will compete in the qualifying round of the 25m sport pistol event with 39 other athletes to select the top 8 to compete in the final. Thu Vinh's opponents include some familiar shooters who have competed in the 10m air pistol event such as Kim Ye Ji or Manu Bhaker. The competition will start at 2:00 p.m. Vietnam time.
In rowing, Pham Thi Hue will compete in the final round to compete for positions from 19 to 24. The Vietnamese athlete will compete with 5 other athletes from Iran, Philippines, Turkey, Prraguay, Peru. If she finishes first today, Pham Thi Hue will be ranked 19th overall in the women's single heavyweight category. The competition will start at 3:30 p.m. Vietnam time.
In athletics, Tran Thi Nhi Yen will compete in the preliminary round of the women's 100m event starting at 3:35 p.m. Nhi Yen will compete in the second race with 8 other athletes from the UAE, Georgia, American Samoa, Chinese Taipei, Guam, Grenada, Pakistan and Oman. If she finishes in the top three, Nhi Yen will officially qualify for the first round.
There are 36 athletes participating in the preliminary round divided into 4 races. The Organizing Committee will select the top 3 runners in each race and the next 5 runners with the best results (a total of 20 runners) to compete in round 1 with other athletes with better results in the year who are waiting. If passing the preliminary round, Nhi Yen will continue to compete in round 1 starting at 4:50 p.m. (Vietnam time).
In swimming, Vo Thi My Tien will compete in the second round of the women's 200m freestyle qualifying round starting at 4:17 p.m. If she finishes in the top 16, My Tien will compete in the semi-finals in the early morning of August 3.
