For the female archer from Hung Yen, patriotic emulation is the driving force that has helped her maintain stable performance for more than a decade, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese sports in the international arena.

Starting her sports career with basketball, but when the coaches realized her suitable qualities in archery, Anh Nguyet changed direction and quickly "like a fish in water". Since the age of 16, she has devoted herself to archery, despite the harsh difficulties of this sport.

Archery requires athletes to practice outdoors regularly, under the scorching summer sun or the biting cold of winter, pulling bows that weigh up to 20 kg for each arrow.

Shortly after switching to archery, Anh Nguyet's talent was recognized. She was called up to the national team and quickly made her mark with outstanding achievements.

In 2019, at the Asian Archery Championship, Anh Nguyet excellently won the bronze medal in the women's single-string bow event, thereby winning a direct ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Also in this year, at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines, the young girl continued to shine when she and her teammates brought home the gold medal in their first appearance in the regional arena.

Despite early success, Anh Nguyet never allowed herself to be complacent. For her, competition is not only about fighting with teammates and opponents, but also about trying to surpass herself.

Patriotic emulation is the driving force for Anh Nguyet to maintain her achievements.

In the past two years, when Vietnam’s archery achievements showed signs of slowing down, Anh Nguyet remained steadfast in her strict training discipline. Every day, she persistently honed each movement, meticulously adjusting each arrow under the guidance of the coaching staff. It was that spirit that helped her overcome difficulties and continue to assert her abilities in the international arena.

The clearest proof is that Anh Nguyet won an additional ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics. This result comes from her perseverance in competing in many major tournaments: the 2023 Asian Championship, the 19th ASIAD, the 2023 World Championship and the Asian Olympic qualifiers.

The total points accumulated from the tournaments helped her to participate for the second time in the most prestigious playground of the world sports, which is reserved for only the most elite athletes. This is not only a personal pride but also a testament to the tireless efforts of the entire Vietnamese archery team.

For this determined girl, patriotic emulation originates from the smallest actions, from each movement of drawing a bow, aiming at a shot to daily physical training. It is a process of hard work and dedication for the country's flag.
