Except for English, all 10th grade classes at the Foreign Language High School (CNN) have increased their enrollment quotas this year, including three classes of Chinese, German, and Japanese that have nearly doubled.
According to the announcement on March 28 of the Foreign Language Specialized High School, Hanoi National University, the school stopped recruiting high-quality classes according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and increased the quota for specialized programs.
The 10th grade English class has the most students enrolled - 210, down 5 compared to last year. The remaining specialized classes all have increased their quotas by 10-30. Of which, the Chinese, German, and Japanese classes have 70 students enrolled; the Russian, French, and Korean classes have 35 students each. In total, the school has 525 10th grade students enrolled.
This year, the Foreign Language High School held its entrance exam on the morning of June 1. Candidates took three exams including Foreign Language, Math and Natural Science , Literature and Social Science.
For Foreign Language, candidates can choose one of the following languages: English, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, or Korean. Except for English, which can be used to enter all 7 specialized classes, the remaining foreign languages are only used for the corresponding specialized class. This subject is in the form of multiple choice and essay questions, with a duration of 90 minutes.
The remaining two subjects are tested in 55 minutes each. Literature has both essay and multiple choice sections, while Math is entirely multiple choice. The Foreign Language Specialized High School announced the exam structure at the end of December last year.

The admission score is the sum of the three test scores on a 10-point scale, with the Foreign Language score multiplied by two. The school will consider from high to low until the quota is full, from the specialized system with scholarships to the specialized system.
The application form will be released online from April 16. The exam fee is 450,000 VND. The exam results will be announced by the Foreign Language High School before June 30.

Every year, the quota of the Foreign Language Specialized High School is about 500, of which 100 are for the non-specialized system. The total number of applications to the school is about 3,500-4,000.
In 2023, the highest standard score for English class is 25.42 points, the lowest standard score for Korean class is 22.34 points, the rest are mainly at 24-25 points.
