Economic bright spots come from three pillars

After merging administrative units including Phuoc The commune, Phu Lac commune, Binh Thanh commune and Lien Huong town, Lien Huong commune was newly formed with a natural area of 128.23 km², population of 70,737 people. The area is large, densely populated, diverse in natural, economic and socio-cultural conditions, creating a favorable foundation for comprehensive development in the fields of: marine economy, agriculture , trade - services and coastal tourism.

In addition to National Highway 1A running through the area, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway, which officially opened to traffic in mid-2023, has opened up breakthrough opportunities for the local tourism industry. Convenient traffic connections help Lien Huong commune promote its advantages in diverse types of tourism such as sea, island, ecological, community and spiritual tourism. The locality owns many outstanding destinations: Co Thach Beach is famous for its wild beauty, unique 7-color stone beach like pearls in the middle of the ocean; the ancient and sacred Co Thach Pagoda is a highlight for developing spiritual tourism; the poetic Cu Lao Cau Island, bearing the typical geological and geomorphological imprints of the South Central Coast region... Promoting advantages, local leaders have been promoting communication and tourism promotion, while developing new products and types such as: Ecotourism, experiencing life in harmony with nature and educating environmental awareness in Hon Cau Marine Reserve; Tourism models associated with agricultural products in vineyards, Phuoc The apple orchards... enrich the experience for tourists, while contributing to job creation, improving income and the lives of local people.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Sa - Chairman of Lien Huong Commune People's Committee said that in the coming time, the locality will continue to coordinate with the province's functional departments to review and complete the tourism development plan, creating favorable conditions to attract businesses and investors with financial capacity and enthusiasm to participate in developing modern and attractive tourism and service projects. The locality will also focus on effectively promoting the potential of destinations, gradually building Lien Huong into an attractive destination on the province's tourism map.

The commercial infrastructure in the commune continues to receive attention with many items, at Lien Huong market, Phuoc The market and Binh Thanh market have been upgraded and repaired to ensure meeting the shopping and consumption needs of the people. In addition, modern business types such as Bach Hoa Xanh stores, convenience stores are increasingly developing, diversifying choices for consumers. Along Lien Huong - Binh Thanh route, National Highway 1A and the inner city area, commercial and service activities are bustling with the appearance of more and more businesses, restaurants, hotels, services for tourism and people's lives, contributing to promoting economic growth and improving the quality of life.

At the same time, the marine economy - the traditional strength of the locality continues to be maintained and developed effectively. The whole commune currently has 650 vessels and boats operating in fishing and aquaculture; the annual seafood output always meets and exceeds the set target. The work of protecting aquatic resources has been strengthened; measures against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU) have been implemented drastically, achieving many positive results. The monitoring of high-risk fishing vessels is carried out regularly and closely. To date, the commune has not recorded any cases of fishing vessels violating the fishing law in foreign waters. Policies and guidelines to support the development of the marine economy, especially in the field of fisheries, have been implemented promptly and in the right direction, contributing to maintaining the sustainable development speed of the key industry in the commune in the new period.

Bring Lien Huong to rapid and sustainable development

With its new position after the merger, Lien Huong commune is facing many opportunities for rapid and sustainable development. This is a "golden time" for the locality to take full advantage of the support policies of the Central Government and the province on infrastructure investment, new rural construction, digital transformation and administrative reform. Land potential, abundant labor resources and the tradition of diligence and creativity of the people are important foundations for the development of high-tech agriculture, aquaculture, small-scale industry and marine economy. The stability of the political system and consensus among the people create important premises for building great national unity, effectively implementing socio-economic development programs, and maintaining national defense and security.

To realize the goal of rapid and sustainable development, Lien Huong commune has identified 6 key tasks and 3 breakthroughs. Mr. Nguyen Truong Sa emphasized: “In particular, taking people as the center of the first breakthrough, focusing on evaluating, arranging, and deploying staff to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation. The second breakthrough is to strongly develop the pillar areas: trade, services, tourism and marine economy. The third breakthrough is to innovate, apply science and technology and improve the quality of administrative procedure reform activities, create a favorable environment to attract investment, promote the strong development of the local socio-economy in the coming time”.

The Congress of Lien Huong Commune Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term is a milestone of special significance, the first congress after the merger, setting out the vision, goals and comprehensive development solutions for the new period. The Commune Party Committee determined the goals: Building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; promoting the effectiveness of state management; promoting administrative reform, digital transformation; effectively exploiting potentials and advantages to develop trade, services, tourism, marine economy and high value-added agriculture.
