The Danish star has agreed a deal with Wolfsburg and undergone a medical .

Eriksen has been without a club since leaving Manchester United at the end of last season. Tipsbladet reported that the 33-year-old midfielder has flown to Germany to sign a two-year contract.

The move will see Eriksen team up with compatriot Peter Christiansen.

Former Copenhagen director Christiansen was appointed CEO of Wolfsburg last summer.

Since Christiansen's arrival, the German side have signed a number of quality Danish players.

Eriksen will reunite with some of his national team compatriots such as Andreas Skov Olsen, Jesper Lindstrom, Joakim Mahle and Jonas Wind at the Volkswagen Arena.

Eriksen last played in early June, when he helped Denmark win against Northern Ireland and Lithuania.

At the start of the summer, it looked like the veteran midfielder would be moving to Championship newcomers Wrexham. However, the deal fell through at the last minute.

The former Manchester United star recently trained with Malmo. But instead of signing a contract with the Swedish club, Eriksen chose to test himself in the Bundesliga.
