In the first round of Group G of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship, the Vietnamese girls caused a significant surprise when they won 1 game against Poland - the world's 3rd ranked team.

After the match, the head coach and the stars of Poland gave compliments to the Vietnamese team. Among them, libero Aleksandra especially praised the tactics of Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team.

Polsat Sport newspaper quoted her recent statement: "Vietnam surprised us. The way they played was really different. With this style of play, it was really difficult for us to prepare.

During the match, there was a moment when I felt like I had to relearn volleyball. Vietnam's style of play did not exist on the previous video analysis. They gave us a big lesson."

Besides the great efforts of his students, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet deserves praise for applying flexible tactics in the match against Poland.

Throughout the first and fourth games, the Vietnamese girls blocked the ball very well, minimizing the powerful smashes of Polish superstar Stysiak. On the other hand, the times Vietnam actively attacked also created some surprises for their opponents.

"We learned a big lesson from Vietnam. That is, in matches like this, the whole team must concentrate from the very first moves, must constantly learn and gain experience," Aleksandra added.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will enter the second match - against Germany at 5:00 p.m. today (August 25) at the 2025 World Volleyball Championship taking place in Thailand.

Compared to Poland, Germany is rated slightly lower, but still ranked 11th in the world, and is also considered an overwhelmingly strong opponent compared to Vietnam.
