After a whale photography trip in the De Gi sea area, photographer Mai Anh Den continued his journey to Nom beach, in Quy Nhon Dong ward, Gia Lai province (formerly Binh Dinh area), where locals reported that whales often appear. Arriving there on the morning of July 4, he had breathtaking moments of "hunting" for beautiful photos with 2 whales.

"I had just arrived here when I heard that the whale had come ashore, so I quickly got on a small boat and headed out to sea, at about 5:20 a.m.," he said. According to Mr. Den, this morning two whales appeared about 1 km from shore, swimming and hunting for prey for nearly 2 hours.

The brilliant red dawn on the horizon, reflected on the clear blue water, making the scene romantic. The whale opened its mouth wide to swallow a large amount of seawater, along with the school of fish, creating a vivid picture.

With a 300mm focal length lens combined with a flycam, NAG Mai Anh Den quickly captured the moment the whale splashed in the water and jumped into the air when hunting. According to the Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Endangered Species (CBES), the whales that appeared near the shore in the past three years belong to the species Balaenoptera edeni, commonly known as Bryde's whales.

Bryde's whales prefer to hunt alone or in small family groups. Each bite creates a spray of water that creates a magical rainbow in the sunlight.

In recent days, Gia Lai province's sea has continuously recorded the appearance of large whales swimming close to shore, in the Hon Kho, Vung Boi, and De Gi sea areas. Locals said this was the longest whale stay, lasting until about 7:15 am.
