By tomorrow (June 3), the heat in the North will tend to cool down slightly with the highest temperature at 35-37 degrees, some places above 37 degrees. Particularly from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue, there will continue to be heat and severe heat, some places especially severe with the highest temperature commonly 36-38 degrees, some places above 39 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 40-60%.

Similar to the North, the area from Da Nang to Phu Yen is also in the above temperature range; the lowest relative humidity is 50-65%.

On June 4, the temperature in the North continued to drop to 35-36 degrees. The whole area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen was only hot, some places were extremely hot with temperatures of 35-37 degrees, some places were over 37 degrees.

From June 5, the heat in the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen will continue to ease.

This heat wave in the North and Central regions also lasted for a whole week and for about 3 consecutive days, the temperature in many places was approximately 38-39 degrees, in some places it was over 40-41 degrees.

However, according to the meteorological agency, this heat wave is about to end as the wind convergence zone above 1,500m forming in the mountainous region of the North is gradually becoming stronger.

This evening and tonight (June 2), in the Viet Bac and Northwest regions, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places over 50mm.

From June 3-8, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas having moderate to heavy rain, concentrated in the late afternoon and at night. From the night of June 8-11, the rain will spread to the plains.

Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, from the evening and night of June 5-11, will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, the heat will end.

Regarding the weather trend in June, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that after the ongoing heat wave, the North will have a cooler period. From mid-June, the heat will increase again. The average temperature in June this year in the North and Central regions tends to be about 0.5-1 degree higher than the average of many years, and the number of hot days is also higher.

Previously, the meteorological agency had forecast that from June to August, heat waves would continue to occur in the North and Central regions with more days than the average of many years and more severe than the same period last year. Each heat wave usually lasts 5-7 days; the highest temperature in the North is about 37-38 degrees; in the Central region 37-39 degrees, in some places higher from 40-42 degrees.

In addition, rain in the North and North Central regions tends to concentrate in mid- and late June, but total monthly rainfall still tends to be 10-20% lower than the average of many years.

Meanwhile, the Central Highlands and the South have entered the rainy season, so this June there will be many days of showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall generally 5-20% higher than the average for the same period in many years.

Particularly this afternoon and evening (June 2), due to the influence of the Southwest monsoon, in the Central Highlands, the South and the southern part of the South Central region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places over 50mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind; or flooding in low-lying areas.
