Ho Chi Minh City: Authorities discovered that Mr. Lee's facility in Thu Duc City was performing nose lifts and filler injections on customers even though it had been suspended for providing medical treatment without a license.
On November 18, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong said that the inspection team on November 15 recorded that the house on Nguyen Quy Canh Street, An Phu Ward, had a room equipped with a surgical bed and procedure. On the table and shelves in the room were new medical equipment, boxes of nasal cartilage, and used syringes, waiting to be destroyed. Mr. Truong Thanh Tinh (also known as Mr. Lee) and his wife Nguyen Thi Thuong were being examined and treated.
In the room, a person explained that he was a staff member, working since October 1st, with the task of welcoming guests, leading them to the room and preparing the equipment. According to Mr. Thuong, the surprise inspection of Mr. Lee was the result of the process of monitoring and supervising the execution of the penalty decision and recording information on social networks by the authorities.
In September, the authorities made a surprise inspection of this facility and noted that one person had just had a nose job with cosmetic thread, while other customers were being consulted. Mr. Lee confirmed to the inspection team that he had learned this technique in Korea and that he had done it correctly, but could not present any documents related to the practice of cosmetic surgery, a medical practice certificate, or legal documents on the facility's operations. Afterwards, the Department Inspectorate invited the facility's representative twice to clarify the violation, but the facility's owner did not comply.
On October 3, Mr. Lee was fined more than 115 million VND by the Department of Health Inspectorate, and his operations were suspended until he had completed all legal documents and removed the advertisement. He paid the fine on October 16.
