Cunha is not enough
It has been 2 weeks since MU officially returned to prepare for the new 2025/26 season, but Ruben Amorim still does not have the expected number of players.
The only new signing at Carrington so far is Matheus Cunha – a Brazilian striker from Wolves, with a price tag of around 74.2 million euros.
Meanwhile, main rivals such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea and even Tottenham have all added strong squads.

Matheus Cunha made great contributions to Wolves last season. He is a versatile, wide-ranging striker who fits the modern football philosophy and has a lot of potential for development.
However, simply bringing in Cunha is clearly not enough for Ruben Amorim to rebuild a MU that has declined over the past few seasons.
In many key positions – centre-back, right-back, holding midfielder, goalkeeper – United lack depth or real competition. Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans have just left, and Lisandro Martinez has been plagued by injuries.
In midfield, Casemiro is older and Christian Eriksen is out of contract; Kobbie Mainoo is almost “missing”, but there is no replacement yet.
Even the forward line is lacking despite the addition of Cunha. Alejandro Garnacho has been left out, along with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. Meanwhile, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund scored just seven Premier League goals between them last season.
MU will certainly have more new contracts. To buy first need to sell, as the policy of Ineos group and billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe .

If the current situation does not change, it will be difficult for MU to return to the top 4 of the Premier League in 2025/26.
The competition in the Premier League is getting more and more fierce. In addition to the big names like Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, there are also the rebels like Newcastle, Aston Villa.
