US, Japan, France, Korea, ASEAN... congratulate Vietnam on 80th National Day

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, leaders of Southeast Asian countries, the US, South Korea, Japan, France... sent congratulatory messages to the leaders of the Party, State and People of Vietnam.

Vietnam is an inspiration for many countries.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 3, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh . Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar also sent a congratulatory letter to President Luong Cuong.

Brunei's King Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn, Singapore's Prime Minister , General Secretary of the People's Action Party (PAP) Hoang Tuan Tai, Timor Leste President José Ramos-Horta... also sent congratulatory messages to senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.

In their congratulatory messages, leaders of Southeast Asian countries expressed their admiration for the Vietnamese people's spirit of solidarity and indomitability, saying it is a source of inspiration for many countries, including those in the region; and highly appreciated Vietnam's journey of international integration and rapid economic development.

Leaders of Southeast Asian countries highly appreciated bilateral relations with Vietnam as well as Vietnam's role in the region, and expressed their wish to further promote friendship and cooperation with Vietnam for peace, cooperation and development in the region.

President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung sent a congratulatory message to President Luong Cuong , expressing his belief that on the basis of firm trust and deep affection between the people of the two countries, the Vietnam-RoK comprehensive strategic partnership will continue to develop even more strongly to a new level in the coming time.

On behalf of the US Government, Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent a message with the most sincere and warm wishes to the Government and People of Vietnam.

In his message, Secretary of State Rubio highly appreciated Vietnam's impressive development, affirming that Vietnam is an important partner in the region, increasingly playing a leading role in handling common global challenges.

In the context that 2025 is also the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations, Secretary Rubio expressed pride in the progress achieved within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Emperor Naruhito sent a congratulatory message to President Luong Cuong; Speaker of the House of Representatives Nukaga Fukushiro and President of the Senate Sekiguchi Masakazu sent congratulatory letters to Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man.

In their congratulatory letters and messages, senior Japanese leaders expressed their deep respect for the dedicated contributions of Vietnamese leaders to the country's construction and development, and welcomed Vietnam's reforms towards a new era.

Japanese leaders were pleased with the positive development of the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in many fields, becoming two irreplaceable partners; and wished to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, national defense and security, parliamentary cooperation, and people-to-people exchange...

French President Emmanuel Macron sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong; French Prime Minister François Bayrou sent a congratulatory letter to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

In the letter, the French leaders emphasized that the two countries' upgrading of relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership has created new momentum for bilateral relations; stating that on the foundation of established trust, the two countries will together build an ambitious partnership between Vietnam and France, as well as with EU and ASEAN partners.

French leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue promoting close relations with Vietnam, while working to build "an independent alliance" between Europe and Asia, with the EU and ASEAN at the core.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Japan sent a congratulatory message to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam; National Secretary of the Communist Party of France Fabien Roussel sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary To Lam.

New Zealand Governor-General Cindy Kiro sent a congratulatory letter to President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Gerry Brownlee sent a congratulatory letter to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

New Zealand leaders stressed that the milestone commemorating September 2 this year is a testament to Vietnam’s impressive development journey over the past eight decades. Vietnam’s remarkable achievements in economic development and social progress continue to inspire the international community.

New Zealand leaders said 2025 also holds special significance for the Vietnam-New Zealand bilateral relationship as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and upgrading relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, expressing confidence that the relationship will continue to develop.

Governor-General of Australia Samantha Mostyn sent a congratulatory letter to President Luong Cuong. In the letter, the Governor-General of Australia emphasized that this is "a milestone marking eight decades of nation building and socio-economic development, with the spirit of outstanding innovation and resilience of the Vietnamese people".

Ms. Mostyn affirmed that Australia and Vietnam are sustainable partners, the bilateral relationship is built on a foundation of strategic trust and the two sides are continuing to realize their vision and commitments within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The Australian Governor-General expressed his wish to soon visit and witness Vietnam's development in recent times.

Highlighting Vietnam's contributions to ASEAN

ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn sent a congratulatory letter to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

In the letter, the ASEAN Secretary General highlighted Vietnam's important contributions in 30 years of participating in ASEAN, contributing to strengthening solidarity and the central role of ASEAN, promoting the process of building the ASEAN Community and regional integration, including practical initiatives on sub-regional development and narrowing the development gap within ASEAN.

The Secretary-General stressed that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Vietnam is always consistently committed to and plays a key role in promoting ASEAN cooperation across all three community pillars.

The Secretary-General also highlighted the role of ASEAN Chair 2020 and the success and significance of the ASEAN Future Forum in ASEAN's efforts to shape its strategy; affirming continued support for Vietnam and member countries in the implementation of "ASEAN 2045: Our Common Future".
