One of the highlights in the press inspection and examination work in Ha Tinh is the effective coordination between the Department of Information and Communications Inspectorate and the relevant agencies. Every year, the Department of Information and Communications Inspectorate has organized work with central newspapers and magazines to resolve issues reported by the press about organizations and individuals in the province. At the same time, the work of inspecting and handling false information, unverified information or information showing signs of violating the law is also carried out resolutely.

Every year, the Department Inspectorate not only works with press agencies but also coordinates in handling violations, including removing contradictory and unverified information and strictly handling violations of the law by reporters and press agencies. This is one of the efforts to help improve the transparency, accuracy and responsibility of the press in providing information to the public.

Strictly handle violations in 2024

In 2024 alone, the inspection and examination work has achieved many important results. The Department of Information and Communications Inspectorate and the Provincial Police have handled 07 cases of violations in the field of journalism, with a total fine of up to 138 million VND. These violations include: 04 cases of impersonating journalists and reporters; 01 case of operating against the purpose; 01 case of a magazine reporting false information, fined 70 million VND; 01 case of violating regulations on illegal filming in target protection areas.

In addition, in 2024, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency also prosecuted 02 reporters of Open Sky Magazine and Business Magazine for "extortion of property". Previously, in 2023, the Provincial Police also prosecuted 03 reporters who took advantage of the name of the press for personal gain. These actions demonstrate the determination of the authorities in strictly handling violations, protecting the reputation and transparency of the press.

Thanks to the strong and decisive participation of the Department of Information and Communications Inspectorate, the Provincial Police and other functional agencies, the state management of the press in Ha Tinh has become more organized and effective. The phenomenon of reporters and collaborators operating in violation of regulations, causing harassment to businesses has significantly decreased. The press environment in Ha Tinh has been increasingly consolidated, contributing to building public trust in press information and preventing acts of exploiting the press for personal gain.

The inspection and examination work in the press sector in Ha Tinh not only helps improve the quality of journalism but also creates conditions for press agencies to operate in accordance with their principles and purposes, contributing to the development of the press industry in general and protecting the interests of people and businesses in the province./.
