Capacity building for farmers, cooperatives and durian exporting enterprises

About 500 farmers, cooperative and business owners participating in the training will be informed by experts about the following contents: sustainable durian production techniques, application of Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP); how to use plant protection drugs that are safe for people and the environment; and how to identify and control common pests and diseases on durian trees.

Disseminate regulations of the import market, how to record books, save records in growing areas, use electronic farming diaries associated with product traceability; guide the use of soil nutrition measurement technology software for households and cooperatives; survey, evaluate, and plan for purchasing links between exporting enterprises and durian farmers. At the same time, guide how to take soil and leaf samples and conduct inspection, analysis, and evaluation of indicators related to regulations on the quality of exported durian...

It is known that Dak Lak province currently has about 41,000 hectares of durian (including 1,000 hectares of the old Phu Yen province), with an expected output of about 400,000 tons in 2025. In the context that the durian industry is facing many difficulties: from tightening plant quarantine standards, requiring growing area codes, packaging facility codes to high requirements on cultivation techniques, traceability and product quality control... Therefore, farmers and businesses are in need of practical support to maintain production and develop the durian industry sustainably.
