The rocket was launched as planned at 8:47 Moscow time from launch pad 31 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
The spacecraft's flight to the ISS will take place on a two-orbit ultra-short trajectory and will take 3 hours and 17 minutes. At 12:04 Moscow time, the Soyuz spacecraft docked with the Russian Prichal module.
The crew's flight to the ISS is expected to last 245 days.
The flight is part of a series of activities organized to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. "Soyuz-2.1a" was named "Victory Rocket" and was decorated with commemorative symbols.
Before the flight, sharing about the training process on the ground, Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexei Zubritsky said that the feeling inside the spacecraft was similar to sitting in a new car and this was the effort of many people who put their efforts into building and preparing this spacecraft.
The launch of the Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft is an important event for Russian space travel because the spacecraft also carries NASA astronauts to the ISS.
