Viewing Lang Co after 15 years on the list of the most beautiful bays in the world

From May 10 to 12, the People's Committee of Phu Loc District (Thua Thien-Hue) will organize a celebration of "Lang Co - World's most beautiful bay - 15 years of construction and development". On this occasion, let's admire Lang Co Bay after 15 years of being listed in the Worldbays Club.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Dang, Vice Chairman of Phu Loc District People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee, the program to celebrate "Lang Co - Beautiful Bay of the World - 15 years of construction and development" will have up to 18 attractive activities taking place from May 10 to 12, aiming to introduce to visitors from near and far a fresh, friendly and hospitable image of Lang Co.

The most prominent highlight of the program is the opening of the walking street (Nguyen Van Street) along Lap An lagoon - where the main activities of the program to celebrate the 15th anniversary of "Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay" will take place.

In addition to the meaning of stimulating tourism in the summer of 2024, the program is expected to create a premise for the following years to make Lang Co an attractive destination on the North-South highway.

According to Mr. Chung, compared to other localities in the province, Phu Loc is endowed by nature with many potentials and strengths in tourism and economy such as sea, lagoon, mountains, forests, and natural landscapes. Phu Loc is an internationally branded destination associated with Lang Co Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

In addition, Phu Loc also has Bach Ma National Park located in the remaining primeval forest ecosystem of the majestic Truong Son range, Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen Monastery, famous beaches such as: Ham Rong, Canh Duong, Binh An, Bai Chuoi... In addition, Chan May deep-water port is qualified to receive cruise ships with a capacity of over 5,000 people...

However, the most worrying thing is that Phu Loc district tourism in general and Lang Co in particular has not developed commensurate with its potential and advantages. In fact, Lang Co still lacks proper entertainment spots such as outdoor entertainment areas, tourism services...

Since Lang Co Bay was admitted as an official member of the World's Beautiful Bays Club (May 2009), Phu Loc District has actively coordinated with provincial departments and branches to seriously implement management work for Lang Co Bay. However, from practice, it is shown that there are still some difficulties in managing Lang Co Bay such as the source of funding for annual membership fees and support costs for the task of managing, promoting and advertising the title of Lang Co Bay that the district has to cover itself, while the district's resources still face many difficulties.

Ngoc Island (also known as Huyen Tran Island, Son Cha Island, and Chao Island) is an island located in the middle of the sea outside Lang Co Bay, and is also a beautiful natural landscape that has not been exploited much.

Another concern is that after 15 years of being recognized as a beautiful bay in the world, up to now, out of 3 beautiful bays in Vietnam admitted to the World Beautiful Bays Club (Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay and Lang Co Bay), only Lang Co Bay does not have a Management Board to promote initiative and professionalism in the process of managing, promoting and advertising the title of Lang Co Bay.

When mentioning Lang Co Bay, few people think of Bai Chuoi, located in the north of Hai Van Pass, in Thua Thien-Hue province, this place is very close to Ngoc Island, a wild landscape and is likened to paradise, standing here you can both bathe in fresh water from Hai Van peak pouring down from cool streams, and soak in the clear blue water of Lang Co beach.

In May 2009, at the 5th Summit of the Worldbays Club held in Setubal (Portugal), Lang Co Bay was elected as the 30th member of the Club.
