- There is only about 1 week left until the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025. This is the time when the children's toy market nationwide in general and in Lang Son province in particular is bustling. In order to protect children's health, the provincial market management force has been strengthening inspection, control, and prevention of violent and dangerous toys from circulating on the market.
Mr. Chu Ngoc Ha, Captain of Market Management Team No. 1 (in charge of Luong Van Tri, Ky Lua, Dong Kinh, Tam Thanh wards) said: implementing the Market Inspection and Control Plan for the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 of the Department of Industry and Trade, of the Provincial Market Management Department, since September 18, the Team has established 2 working groups to inspect 18 toy businesses in 4 wards. Through inspection, the Team has not discovered any businesses selling violent toys or toys of unknown origin. However, during the inspection, the Team reminded 3 businesses not to display toys with images that are not suitable for children.
In addition to Market Management Team No. 1, from September 18th to now, Market Management Teams in charge of other areas have also simultaneously launched inspections of supermarkets, toy stores, as well as small toy stores at school gates, entertainment venues, etc.
It is known that at this time, the provincial Market Management force is focusing on checking and preventing key types of toys such as: marble guns, plastic bullet guns, swords, masks with strange shapes... These are items that are not allowed to circulate on the market.
According to the assessment of the leaders of the Provincial Market Management Department, the simultaneous launch of regular and surprise inspections of toy businesses aims to promptly detect and prevent violent toys, dangerous toys, toys with shapes and images inappropriate for children from circulating on the market, thereby protecting the health of children in the province.
It can be seen that the provincial Market Management force has been making efforts to control and prevent violent toys, dangerous toys, and toys not suitable for children from circulating on the market at this time.
However, as the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the demand for children’s toys, especially “unique” and “strange” toys, is increasing. Therefore, the risk of smuggled toys appearing on the market, especially violent toys such as toy guns, toy swords, and strange-shaped masks, etc., may occur.
Ms. Truong Thi Oanh, block 6, Dong Kinh ward said: My children are at an age where they are very active and like toys such as marble guns or plastic bullet guns and artillery guns. Therefore, I am very concerned about violent and dangerous toys if they are available in toy stores. My family really hopes that the authorities will check and promptly prevent violent and dangerous toys from circulating on the market.
Discussing this issue, Mr. Dang Van Ngoc, Head of the Provincial Market Management Department, said: to prevent violent toys and dangerous toys from circulating on the market during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2025, the Market Management Department is and will continue to proactively deploy professional measures, conduct reviews, collect information from the market, from intelligence sources... to have a basis for conducting surprise inspections of business establishments, thereby not allowing violators to have time to disperse violating goods.
In particular, from now until October 10, the provincial Market Management Department will focus on inspecting and monitoring business activities in walking streets and entertainment venues to promptly prevent toys that are not suitable for children before they reach consumers. At the same time, the provincial Market Management Department will also proactively coordinate with other functional forces to prevent toys of unknown origin and smuggled toys from circulating on the market.
Although the provincial Market Management force has been preventing the sale of violent toys and toys that are dangerous to children from circulating on the market, in order to completely prevent such toys from reaching children, the provincial Market Management agency recommends that parents when buying toys for the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 for their children should choose reputable businesses and only buy toys that are appropriate for the children's age.
