OceanBank changes name, MB puts leader in 'hot seat'

Information from the Military Bank (MB) said that it has just officially appointed a new senior leader at OceanBank. At the same time, from December 18, OceanBank will change its name to Vietnam Modern Bank Limited, abbreviated as MBV, aiming to become a modern, safe and sustainable bank.

On December 10, MB also officially appointed senior personnel to the Board of Members, Board of Supervisors, and General Director at MBV.

Accordingly, Mr. Vu Thanh Trung, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of MB, will concurrently hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Members at MBV. Mr. Le Xuan Vu, Member of the Executive Board of MB, was appointed as Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of MBV.

Mr. Vu Thanh Trung has a master's degree, majoring in business administration with 14 years of working at MB Group. Mr. Trung has extensive experience in the fields of investment and retail and has played an important role in the process of making MB a pioneer bank in digital transformation, with a top customer base in the recent period. For the 2024 - 2029 term, Mr. Trung was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of MB.

Mr. Le Xuan Vu has a master's degree, majoring in business administration. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the finance and banking industry and many years of holding senior management positions at prestigious credit institutions, especially in the field of banking modernization and application of international standards on the management of financial and banking activities.

"With their new positions at MBV, Mr. Vu Thanh Trung and Mr. Le Xuan Vu will no longer hold the position of Executive Board members at MB. After this decision, MB's Executive Board will have a total of 12 members.

At the same time, MB also sent highly qualified and experienced personnel in the finance and banking industry to join the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board of MBV, contributing to increasing management and operational capacity, making MBV a modern, safe and sustainable bank in the future," said an MB representative.

Currently, MB Group has developed into a corporation with an ecosystem including 3 banks (MB, MBCambodia, MBV) and 6 member companies (MBS, MBCapital, MIC, MB Ageas, MBAMC, Mcredit).
